Organizations, charities, individuals

Do you know any organization or person fighting in the name of our environment that you find impressive? Is there any way one could help them?

Here are some examples of eco-gems:

Haak-In is located in Amsterdam, where a wonderful lady spreads the awerness of re-use by talking to people that step in, attracted by amazing plastic chairs, lamps, jewellery and other items. They're all made by plastic bags(!) found on trees, streets or brought by those, who already know the place. In one of those tiny buildings, the person behind this project runs courses, on which she teaches how to create a colorful, useful object out of plastic trash. One person - huge action. Quick reminder - avoid buying plastic at all cost.

"Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species." Those guys have 9 ships, which are used to physically stop poachers. They have recently moved their headquarters to Amsterdam. Donate, become volunteer, promote them - they are worth it!

"The Black Fish is an international organisation that works to end illegal overfishing." Not only can you become a volunteer, but also...

4. ;

Organization that directly prevents animal cruelty by stepping between hunters and their prey.

Organization led by Dr. Sylvia Earle focused on protecting the oceans. She gave a powerful speech on one of TEDx's events and I put the link to it in "Environmental challenges" topic.

Hello, I want to share with you two, fantastic organizations.
The first one is Otwarte Klatki.
It is foundation that unites people from Poland, who care about animal's rights  Everyone can be part of their actions towards improvement of breeding animals conditions. If you are afraid, or you can't take part in direct actions , there is also possibility to donate some money in favor of fur friends.

Second one is Greenpeace.

Greenpeace is a international organisation which main task can be described as defending mother nature on all grounds.

I believe Greenpeace is widely known around the globe, because its actions take place on different lands. Greenpeace cares about green and peaceful future. It means: protecting biodiversity, prevent pollution on land, in air and water. To acquire these goals, organisation need to expose global environmental issues. The best way to do it is to confront in direct, non-violent approach.
You can either donate Greenpeace or become volunteer worker to support its actions.
